Esporão was elected, for the second time in its history, the "Company of the Year" by Revista dos Vinhos. The initiative, already known as the "Oscars of the Wine," rewards people, products and companies of wine that had stood out most during the year.

According to Revista dos Vinhos, this award highlights Esporao’s work and consistency year after year, as well as the dynamism and the boldness inherent to the start of a new project – Quinta dos Murças - in the Douro region.

For João Roquette, CEO of Esporão, " this distinction rewards each person’s dedication which make Esporão a unique and winner project and it was only possible by the vision and determination of our shareholder, by the trust relationship that we have with our customers and partners, in particular with PrimeDrinks whose performance in recent years had contributed much for the good results in Portugal. That this recognition makes us more responsible and motivated to persist growing, to be the first and to achieve new levels of excellence".

The wine Esporão Private Selection Garrafeira Red 2005 was also awarded with the "Award of Excellence", assigned to the 30 portuguese best wines in 2008.

Revista dos Vinhos, the wine´s leading publication in Portugal, awarded the Best of the Year 2008, at a ceremony which met more than 900 people in the Congress and Exhibition Center of the Customs in Porto, on February, 13th.
